Does any of this sound familiar?

Loss of distance off the tee

Often linked to restricted hip rotation or limited thoracic mobility — not clubhead speed alone.

Early extension through impact

Frequently a pelvic control issue. The body moves away from the ball because it has no other option.

Back stiffness or recurring discomfort

Back stiffness can often be linked to compensation patterns, with the back taking load the hips and glutes should be helping to manage.

Swing breaks down after 9 holes

Fatigue exposes physical limitations. When the body can no longer compensate, the pattern collapses.

Some swing patterns are not purely technical. If coaching isn't fully sticking, or the same patterns keep returning — the physical side is worth looking at.

ABOUT THE SERVICE

NASM-qualified Golf Fitness Specialist, with over two decades of coaching experience. This is not generic gym programming — it is assessment-led coaching built around the physical demands of golf.

Assessment first. Always.

Before any training begins, I assess how your body actually moves — posture, mobility, strength patterns, and the physical factors influencing your swing.

The findings shape everything that follows. Every exercise, every session, every home programme is built around your movement, your limitations, and your goals on the course.

This is not generic gym work adapted for golf. It is programming built specifically around your body.

Based at the Richard McEvoy Golf Academy, Shoeburyness, Essex.

No gym membership required.

Two ways to begin

Every new client starts with an assessment. It is the only way to understand what your body is doing and build a programme that actually works.

A NOTE ON PROGRAMMING

Golf fitness programming is not available as a standalone entry service. Before any programme is written, I need to assess how you move, coach you through the exercises, and understand how your body responds to training.

For this reason, additional programming is only offered to suitable clients following an assessment and a period of coached sessions. This ensures any programme prescribed is appropriate, effective, and built around your individual needs rather than a generic template.
